IHPCC 2025 - Code of conduct:
This code of conduct applies to any event run on the University of Limerick campus, which is parally, or fully managed by UL Events.
We look forward to welcoming you to the University of Limerick campus and encourage the collaboration and networking that this event provides to all attendees. We recognise that delegates attending academic conferences are primarily inclusive, respectful, dignified and behave with integrity to all involved in such events (whether attendees, sponsors, volunteers or UL Event employees). However, UL Events finds it helpful to outline expectations for all participants with regard to attendee conduct. Harassment of any kind, whether to an attendee, organiser, sponsor, exhibitor or any other involved party, will not be accepted at any of our events.
This Code of Conduct is not a legal document. It supplements, but does not impede, the application of other relevant policies, laws or rules which regulate the venue (or online platform) which hosts the event. This event will comply with all platform regulations, country laws and venue policies and will report all inappropriate behaviour accordingly.
Harassment includes offensive verbal comments, written content, gestures, or any demeaning behaviour (whether in person or online), related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, pregnancy, technology choices, sexual images, deliberate intimidation, stalking, sustained disruption of any part of the event, inappropriate physical contact, unwelcome sexual attention or any other differentiating factors. Ignoring or encouraging any of the above behaviour is also considered harassment. Participants will be asked to stop any harassing behaviours, and are expected to comply immediately.
If a participant engages in harassment of any kind, the conference organisers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the event with no refund.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of the UL Event Team. Event staff can be identified as by their branded uniforms (UL Events) or by their badges.
UL Event staff will be happy to assist participants contact hotel/venue security or/and the local police service, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the event. We value your attendance.
We expect participants to follow these rules at all conferences, summer schools, language schools, sports and leisure/arts/charity events (including all social events held as part of these overall programmes).
Child Protection is of the utmost importance to UL Events. If you have a member of your party who is under the age of 18, it is your Event Owner’s responsibility to ensure that all necessary child protection measures are in place and to ensure that everyone connected to the event complies with our policy on child safeguarding, which can be sent to the Event Owner on request.
The Data Controller of this event is Plassey Trust Company CLG (PTC). Personal data will be held in the EventsAIR and PTC software systems for the purpose of event management and CRM. Other recipients of your Personal Data will be the IHPCC, the University of Limerick and Failte Ireland (Ireland's national tourism body). Your data may also be shared by those providing personalised services specifically (and only) in direct provision for this event. Personal data will be stored for five (5) years.
If access to the event is via an online platform, your supplied access credentials are non-transferable and should not be shared with any other party.
Presenters are wholly responsible for the content of their presentations and agree to adhere to the accepted guidelines regarding research ethics and collaborative consent.
If you wish to take photographs during the event, please ensure that you have the permission of those presenters/attendees whose work or image may appear in the photograph.
Attendees, organisers, volunteers and all those attending UL Events must abide by any specified Health protocols in place at that time, which will be communicated to you by the event organisers where necessary.
